Recording "No Children" or "Not Married" in FamilySearch

How often has someone looked for children or a marriage date only to discover the couple had no children or they were never officially married? Both are valid facts that need recording to prevent one from repeating a needless search, but how do you do this in FamilySearch?

Once you are logged into FamilySearch, go to the individual's profile.

Now scroll down to "Other Information: and click on "Add Information" and note a list of "Events" and further down "Facts" are there in a drop down menu.

You'll note you can choose "No Children" or "No Couple Relationship", etc. under Facts, or create a "Custom Event or Custom Fact" aid future researcher as well as sharing important information about the person.

Once selected you can insert any additional details to back up the statement.

Taking this extra step will save time as one now knows not to search for children if there were none.

While it would be nice to have this information right below the couple's marriage, this is where it is placed in FamilySearch. Taking a moment to review the added information can save one time.
